Real-World Experience & Competitive Shooting

Iron Sight Insights was built off of my lifelong passion for the shooting. My opinion is rooted in years of competing in USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) competitions, where I’ve developed my skills in speed, accuracy, and handling a firearm under pressure (although I still have a lot to learn).

I am also a dedicated daily concealed carry advocate, and I believe that carrying a firearm is a significant responsibility that requires the right gear and consistent training. My hope and goal is to bridge that gap between high-level competition and practical self-defense for others like myself.

My Testing Methodology

At Iron Sight Insights, I typically don't just "show" guns; I test them. Every handgun review and gear evaluation on my channel is backed by:

  • Round Counts: I personally put hundreds or thousands of rounds through a gun before offering any long-term opinion and perspective on durability or failure points.

  • Daily Carry Testing: For items like holsters, guns that I EDC, or other accessories - I test them in real-world environments to ensure comfort and concealment. Typically by carrying the firearm for a period of time to develop a solid opinion before sharing it with others.

  • Transparent Analysis: Whether it’s a budget-friendly Glock clone or a high-end compensated race gun, my goal is to provide honest feedback to help you make informed purchasing decisions.

    • I know the gun world can be complicated and many times it can be unclear when a creator receives something for free. My goal on my channel is to offer transparency on when I purchased products myself or when there is a standing relationship with a company.

The Story Behind the Channel

My journey as a content creator began during the COVID-19 years. I picked up a camera to start filming myself playing guitar and sharing original music with the guitar community. After successfully building a channel in the music industry reviewing guitars, I shifted my focus to my other lifelong passion: firearms. Growing up shooting with my dad and brothers, the range was—and still is—the place where we connect.

There is something extremely therapeutic about being at the range, smelling gun powder, and putting rounds down range. It is a place where I feel like I can lock in and forget anything else troubling my mind. Lastly, my goal with the channel is just to combine my obsession with camera gear, cinematography, and photography with my technical knowledge of firearms to provide the 2A community with content that is high quality and provides value.
